Manchester BMX Club 2008 Events
North Region Summer Series Round 8: Sunday August 10th
The first major event at the new Manchester Platt Fields track will be the final round of the North Region Summer Series. This will take place on August 10th and we plan to make this our official opening race event. Registration will be up until 11.00AM with racing at midday. As well as the expert and payback classes we will also be running novice races, so whatever your age and ability you can join in with the racing. More information regarding this event will be posted on this page during July.
British Cycling National Series 2008
Details of the 2008 British Cycling BMX National Series are now all in place. It will take place over 8 weekends giving riders the opportunity to race over 12 rounds. The series starts in the South West with a double-header at Burnham-On-Sea, stays in the South West for the third round at Cheddar before moving to the Midlands with races at Mansfield and Chesterfield. It's a welcome return to national racing at Mansfield who have a very impressive revamped track.
The series then heads up to pastures new at Hartlepool for the next round. For those unfamiliar with Hartlepool, the track is located in picturesque Summerhill Country Park and has an amazing 6 straights. It's back down to Burnham in July, then back up north to sample Coppull's hotpot, then over to neighbours Preston for the last round in October.
