National Series 2012 Round 1

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Hi Everyone,

Well, the first National of 2012 is nearly here….just 3 days to go!!

I know that some of you who are racing this weekend have never raced at this level before, and may need some guidance from the seasoned race parents/riders, so…. On Saturday 14th, could any Manchester Club riders and parents looking for guidance meet at 11:30am by the Cafe at the Indoor, and Sarah and Andy will run through the weekends schedule and give guidance on what happens. If you need to contact Sarah, her email address is: sarahharrop@btinternet.com

Here’s a link to the event information including the schedule: http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/bmx/article/bmx20111215-bmx-2012-British-BMX-Series-Round-1—Event-Information-0 Please note the registration and practice times, as even riders that have pre-registered still have to sign on to verify their category, race plate and club details.

For those of you not racing at the Indoor this weekend, the Council have kindly offered to cover the Club session, and will be running their usual pay and ride session.

Llandegla Mountain Biking

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

Following the success of last years mountain biking trip, we’re off to Llandegla again on 30th December.

There’s a great range of trails for all abilities including some awesome new black trails recently tested by some of the junior race team!

Once you’ve finished riding, there’s an award winning cafe or if you’ve still got any energy left, there’s a couple of pump tracks and skills areas to play on.

We’re aim to meet at 10am and then probably split up into a couple of groups depending on ability (last year  a couple of people took the kids round the blue run, whilst the adults rode the red).

If you’re bringing kids, they do need mountain bikes and you need to be aware that the first 30 to 40 minutes is all uphill!

If you need more information on directions, bike hire or facilities, please look at the centre website www.oneplanetadventure.com.

Theres no limit on numbers, but if you need more help or info, please e-mail Sarah  on sarahharrop@btinternet.com

Redline Rock Manchester

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

With three Manchester BMX Club riders sponsored by Redline, and the UK distributor Shiner kindly donating a fantastic MX 20 race bike to the raffle, this weekend’s National Series finale had a distinctly Redline theme!

Pictured left to right are Valerie Zebrokova, Andy Clucas and Jacob Roberts (on bike)

Valerie and Jacob each won both rounds at the weekend, with Andy winning on Saturday. These results confirmed Val as overall winner in 13-14 Girls, Andy as overall winner in 17-24 and gave Jake 5th in Junior Men, despite missing several rounds at the start of the year. Their team-mate Alan Hill added to the Redline victory tally with wins in Masters and 35-39 Cruiser, giving him the title in both!

Each of them has performed consistently over the year, with great riding on different tracks and each is a great ambassador for Redline and Manchester BMX Club.
