The final rounds of the National Series see Manchester BMX Club hosting for the third straight year at the popular Platt Fields track in Fallowfield.
With some titles still to be decided, there’s a lot of action to look forward to.
Camping
Due to the high security costs of having a separate campsite for the national weekend at Manchester, we have had to change our plans and revert to the same layout as 2010, so this does put a cap on the number of camping spots available. Our apologies to anyone inconvenienced by this. If you intend on camping, then you will have to pre book and use our paypal payment system on the club website. Spaces are limited, so if you do not secure a space, please do not turn up expecting to be able to grab a spot, as only those who arrive with proof of a booking will be allowed to camp. There’s also further information on Hotels and Restaurants in the area. Camping is available from Midday on Friday until 6pm on Sunday. Please do not arrive before Midday on Friday. If more camping spots become available, the updated information will be released.
Security
We employ a security company for the whole period of the event for your safety, which is also a requirement of Manchester City Council. Wristbands will be issued to all attendees and our security staff will be checking anyone entering the camping and trackside areas. Please wear your wristband to ensure the procedure runs smoothly.
Friday
All arrivals will use the same entrance on Friday, which is the trackside entrance via Wilmslow Road (M14 6LN). There will be practice on Friday evening from 5pm until 8pm, split into age based blocks. We’ll start with the 12 and under before switching to the 13 and over (exact times to be published closer to the event date). Friday is also set up day, so if you are bringing a gazebo or any other heavy items to the track, bring them on Friday when you will be able to drive close to trackside.
Saturday & Sunday
Due to the early starts on Saturday, no vehicle movement will be allowed around the track. If you are arriving by car and not camping, please use the Platt Lane(M14 7PY) entrance. Only pre booked campers and officials will have access to parking via the Wilmslow Road (M14 6LN) entrance.
Team Areas
Only teams are required to pre-book their team space. Priority is given to BC registered teams. Could all team managers please provide the following information:
• Dimensions of your team area
• Contact name and email address
• Preferred location:
1. Grassed area between the last straight and the campsite (as per 2010)
2. The Basketball court that provides a hard standing area
Club Areas
There’s no need for clubs to pre-book, but if you could let me know the dimensions of your club area, it will help with the planning process.
