TERMS AND CONDITIONS

RISKS
A BMX track, by its very nature, with high speeds, jumps and a steep start hill will be physically demanding - and the risk of injury is significant. There is the potential for serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis and loss of life. Such risks cannot be eliminated entirely without jeopardizing the essential qualities of BMX riding. While Manchester BMX club’s rules, equipment and coaching staff/volunteers may reduce the risks, the chance of injury does still exist. There is also potential for risks and dangers that may not be obvious or reasonably foreseeable at this time.  To reduce the risks, I agree (on behalf of the child as parent, guardian or Responsible Adult, as applicable) to follow (and, if applicable, ensure that the child follows) the rules established for participation in BMX riding, including the rules posted in and around Manchester BMX Club’s facility, and all instructions given to me by Manchester BMX Club coaches and staff before and during my participation in BMX riding.

HELMETS
Helmets must be worn at all times when riding bikes at the Manchester BMX Club facility.

MEDICAL

I certify that I have (/the child has) no medical conditions or health concerns that make it dangerous to participate in BMX riding in a safe manner for myself
(/himself or herself) or others and that if I have any concerns in this regard, Manchester BMX Club has been informed or will be informed prior to my (/the child) undertaking any BMX riding.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I consent and agree that Manchester BMX Club may take photographs or digital recordings of me (/the child) participating in BMX riding and use these in any and all media for training, promotional or other safety purposes. I further consent that my identity (and, if applicable, the child’s entity) may be revealed therein or by description, text or commentary. I waive any rights, claims or interest to inspect or approve the use of the photograph and/or recording with respect to myself (and, if applicable, the child), and understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration of any kind.

FIRST AID

I consent to receive (/for the child to receive) treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness as a result of my (/the child) participating in BMX riding.

ATTENDANCE REGISTER

The register must be signed by all riders (or parent/guardian if under 18 years of age) taking part in every session. On completion of the entry, a wrist band will then be issued to show the rider’s eligibility to take part in the BMX session. You will also be asked if there are any medical issues that the coaches need to be made aware of (and any medicines required by the rider).

By signing the register you signify your agreement to these Terms and Conditions.

ADULT SUPERVISION

“Balance Bike” and “Intro to BMX” sessions require the parent/guardian to remain on site at the Manchester BMX facility for the duration of the session, in case of accident or emergency.

“Novice BMX” and “Intermediate BMX” sessions are for club members only so do not require adult supervision, with the exception of Taster Sessions, where the parent/guardian of a non-member (if under 18) will be required to remain on site at the Manchester BMX Club facility for the duration of the session, in case of accident or emergency.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Non-Members attending Open Sessions and adult Non-Members attending coaching sessions are required to complete an Emergency Contact Information Form at the time of signing the Register.

Members are exempt, as Manchester BMX Club already has their Emergency Contact Details.

NEW RIDERS

New riders must attend at least one “Intro to BMX” session to be assessed by the coaches as to their level of riding.

For safety reasons, you should not book onto the “Novice BMX” or “Intermediate BMX” coaching sessions until the coach has confirmed that you have gained the skills required to take part in these sessions. Riders without the appropriate skills will be turned away from the session.

SAFETY BRIEFINGS

If a rider misses the Safety Briefing at the beginning of a coaching session, they will not be able to take part in the session.

NON-MANCHESTER BMX CLUB SESSIONS
No coaching is allowed during Open Sessions.
Private coaching sessions must be arranged in advance with the Club.

SPECTATORS

For safety reasons, spectators must remain behind the fence. Only riders displaying wrist bands are allowed on the track and start hill areas.
